Gail Griffith performs staffing studies including custom surveys and related data collection and analyses. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, staff development and training, and library public services. Her project responsibilities for The Singer Group have included collecting and analyzing staffing and workload data, facilitating employee focus groups, and facilitating client workgroup meetings.

Most recently, Gail has worked with The Singer Group on studies for the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library system, the Rochester Hills (MI) Public Library, and the Loyola-Notre Dame College Library.

In addition to her work with the Singer Group, Gail consults for a number of public library, local government and non-profit organizations.

  • Most recently she served as strategic planning consultant for the Anne Arundel County (MD) Public Library, the Western Maryland Regional Libraries, and the Washington County (MD) Library.
  • " She has also served as consultant for the Division of Library Development and Services of the Maryland State Department of Education on several planning and training projects. Her most recent project for DLDS is the evaluation of the Library Associate Training Institute, a statewide educational program for paraprofessional librarians. Gail's responsibilities for this project included designing and conducting interviews with library directors, focus groups of supervisors, and online surveys of trainees. Working with an advisory committee and the LATI project director, she developed recommendations to help the program meet the needs of staff from public libraries throughout the state.
  • " In addition to library groups, Gail has also facilitated planning meetings for nonprofit organizations such as the Executive Board of the Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, whose members represent opinion leaders with both political and financial stakes in community health issues.

Gail has worked as a professional public librarian for over thirty years, and has spent over twenty-three years as a public library administrator responsible for public services and human resources.

Gail holds a Master of Science degree in Organization Development and Human Resources from The Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Maryland. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is in Sociology from Otterbein College.
