Dr. James M. Wilburn, III, is a Consultant affiliated with The Singer Group.

Since 1990, Jim has consulted with over 100 organizations nationwide including colleges, manufacturers, government entities and other service, health care, and public groups.

Prior to his consultancy, Jim directed the corporate training and organizational development function for two national energy companies, and served as general manager, human resources for a diversified energy supplier. He has been a practitioner in industry in every aspect of management training and human resource design applications. Jim recognizes the need to align initiatives with the organization's human resource infrastructure and to tailor programs and systems to the varying levels of supervisory, team leader, and managerial needs.

Jim specializes in common sense approaches that support the bottom line. His emphasis is on adding value through training and development efforts that are in sync with the organization's plans and culture. To that end, he approaches each client project as a unique opportunity. Jim's broad background allows him to draw from similar experiences with other companies to meet an organization's needs and to economize time, energy, and investment.

A native of North Carolina, Jim received a doctorate in Adult Education from North Carolina State University. He has also served as a national lecturer in the graduate school at NOVA Southeastern University and currently serves on the adjunct faculty at Morgan State University’s Community College Leadership Program in Higher Education. He is currently Director, Human Resources at Cecil College in Maryland.
