Dr. James M. Wilburn, III, is a Consultant affiliated with The Singer Group.

Since 1990, Jim has provided consulting services to over 90 organizations nationwide including 25 colleges, 24 manufacturers, 14 government organizations, and 25 other service, health care, and public groups.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Jim directed the corporate training and
organizational development function for two national energy companies, and served as general manager, human resources for a diversified energy supplier. He has been a practitioner in industry in every aspect of management training and consulting applications. Jim recognizes the need to align training initiatives with the organization's human resource infrastructure and to tailor programs to the varying levels of supervisory, team leader, and managerial needs.

Jim specializes in common sense approaches that support the bottom line. His emphasis is on adding value through training and development efforts that are in sync with the organization's plans and culture. To that end, he approaches each client project as a unique opportunity. Jim's broad background allows him to draws from similar experiences with other companies to meet an organization's needs and to economize time, energy, and investment.

A native of North Carolina, Jim received a doctorate in Adult Education from North Carolina State University. He serves on the continuing education adjunct faculty of colleges in Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, and North Carolina. In that capacity, he works with resident manufacturing and service organizations who look to their local colleges for management consulting and training assistance.

Jim is also on the graduate faculty of NOVA Southeastern University and serves as national lecturer, core faculty member and dissertation advisor to the Program for Higher Education.
